After her brief stint representing the reversible clothing idea in the business reality show Shark Tank India, entrepreneur Neeti Singhal became a well-known name as she faced rejection on the show and heavy criticism by the show’s judge Ashneer Grover. It all turned out well for the fashion designer, who was not only featured on Amul’s latest topical but also received “congratulations” from Ashneer Grover.
Sharing the new Amul topic on Facebook, Neeti wrote, “Thank you Amul! I always look forward to seeing your hoardings since childhood. Never thought that one day I can be your Amul girl!!”
Ashneer Grover also shared the same topic on his Instagram, when one of his followers asked him if she was the same woman who pitched his business idea Twee in One, Ashneer wrote, “@Niti.Singal congratulations!”
Fashion designer Neeti Singhal was among 198 pitchers who got an opportunity to present their business ideas at the inaugural session of Shark Tank India.
Niti presented her business venture Twee in One on Shark Tank India and faced harsh criticism from Ashneer. Criticizing her idea for convertible and reversible clothing, she said, “It’s very bad fashion. I don’t think anyone will wear it. You should take it off. Why are you wasting your time.”
The business reality show Shark Tank India is for entrepreneurs who pitch their business ideas in front of a panel of tycoons aka Shark, who offer their investments and guidance in exchange for equity. It aired on Sony Entertainment Television at 9 pm on weekdays for over two months. Its first season ended on 4 February. Ashneer, the co-founder of BharatPe, was one of the ‘sharks’ of the show. During Season 1, he developed a reputation for being too harsh towards some pitchers when he didn’t like their business model.
Recently, Neeti revealed that Ashneer’s wife Madhuri wore one of his designs during her appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show. Sharing a picture of Ashneer and his wife from the show, Neeti wrote on Instagram, “Never let anyone’s words dominate you. Everyone has their own opinion. Don’t stop believing in yourself. “
