Expected to be launched on June 29 or 30, the 2022 Brezza will receive major upgrades on the powertrain and features front. Also, the SUV may drop the ‘Vitara’ from its name as a part of the update. Ahead of its official launch, here’s what you need to know about the new-gen Brezza.
2022 Maruti Brezza Exterior: A new tailgate and a sunroof
2022 Maruti Brezza It will eventually get a sunroof, so it will be the first Maruti car in India to have this feature. Spotted several times on Indian roads, the new-gen Brezza will get major exterior updates. Spy shots revealed that it receives a new front fascia, which includes a new bonnet with a revised grille and new LED headlamps with LED DRLs.
As seen in the spy shots, the rear fascia gets a new tailgate, sleeker LED tail-lamps and a new rear bumper. Additionally, it will also sit on dual-tone alloy wheels. The new Brezza will be based on the same Global Sea platform as its predecessor. However, the brand is likely to use a sturdier steel body for the safety of the driver and passengers.
2022 Maruti Brezza Interior: A HUD, six airbags and a 9.0-inch touchscreen
Inside, the 2022 Maruti Brezza will update it with more equipment, including a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Pro+ software, a 360-degree camera, a HUD, connected car features and more.
Earlier spy shots had revealed that the new Brezza gets an upmarket dashboard, new instrumentation dials as well as a new flat-bottom steering wheel.
Currently, the Vitara Brezza enjoys a 4-star Global NCAP safety rating. The brand plans to focus on the safety of the new Brezza and equip it with 6 airbags and hill-hold feature (only in automatic variants).

At heart, the new-gen Brezza will likely continue the same 1.5-litre K15B four-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. However, the four-speed torque converter gearbox will be replaced with a 6-speed torque converter gearbox with paddle shifters. This will be the first Maruti car in India to have paddle shifters.
2022 Maruti Brezza Price: Rs 8 lakh onwards (ex-showroom)
The new generation Maruti Brezza will be offered at a starting price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti The new Brezza can also be introduced in CNG. The company has already introduced Swift DZire, Ertiga with CNG variants and will soon introduce CNG across its entire Nexa range.
