Bajaj Pulsar N160 spy shots show that the design language is borrowed from the Pulsar N250 which went on sale last year

The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar N160 test mule was spotted testing at Chakan on the outskirts of Pune and the bike appears to be pretty close to production. The body panels, headlamp cowl and tail section, all borrow heavily from the Pulsar N250 in terms of design. The N160 gets a familiar headlamp unit with projector lens and LED DRLs, while the indicators get bulbs instead of LEDs, as seen on the quarter-litre Pulsar. The 160cc offering also gets split seats and what appears to be an LED taillight. As per the spy shots, the motorcycle will feature an upright yet sporty riding posture aimed at young riders. Remember, the Pulsar NS160 borrowed heavily from the NS200, so the design of the new N160 is hardly a surprise.

The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar N160 is expected to have a similar frame to the Pulsar N250, while power is likely to come from a 160cc single-cylinder engine instead of the existing unit. Currently, the Pulsar NS160 makes around 17 bhp and 14.6 Nm of peak torque. The new motor could see a marginal improvement in power while the torque figures could go up by a substantial margin. The test mule also gets a kick-starter, which makes for an interesting addition in modern times.

Bajaj Pulsar N160 will ride on 17-inch alloy with MRF tyres. It will also get single-channel ABS

Mechanically, the Pulsar N160 will come with telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. The test mule also comes with disc brake only with single-channel ABS. The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels with MRF tyres. It is likely that the upcoming Pulsar N160 may get the same price as the Pulsar NS160. The latter currently commands an asking price of ₹ 1.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the N160 may see a marginal increase. As per the spy images, the Pulsar N160 could arrive in the second half of the year, probably around the festive season. It will compete with TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZ-S FI, Hero Xtreme 160R, Suzuki Gixxer and others.
