For the assessment year 2021-22, out of 5.89 crore ITRs filed till December 31, 49.6% are ITR1 (2.92 crore), 9.3% ITR2 (54.8 lakh), 12.1% ITR3 (71.05 lakh), 27.2%. ITR4 (1.60 crores), 1.3% are ITR5 (7.66 lakhs), ITR6 (2.58 lakhs) and ITR7 (0.67 lakhs). More than 45.7% of these ITRs have been filed using online ITR The form and balance is uploaded on the portal using ITR generated from the offline software utilities.
