Hyderabad:

Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that the next 30-40 years will be the era of BJP which will make India a “Vishwa Guru” (world leader). Speaking at the BJP’s national executive meeting, Shah said the BJP would end “family rule” in Telangana and West Bengal and form governments in states where power was still out of reach of the party.

He called for an end to the politics of dynasty, casteism and appeasement and cited the party’s victory in the recent elections as supporting “the politics of development and performance”.

Mr. Shah identified South India as the region for the next phase of BJP’s development. He said the opposition has become disgruntled and angry with the Congress members fighting for democracy within their organisation.

Mr Shah termed as “historic” the Supreme Court’s recent decision dismissing a petition challenging the Special Investigation Team (SIT) sanction to 64 people, including the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi, in the 2002 Gujarat riots case. The court also took strict action on the petitioners.

The verdict exposed opposition parties, a section of the media and some NGOs to a conspiracy to defame PM Modi, Mr Shah said.

Mr Shah said PM Modi got humiliated, maintained silence while facing the SIT and kept his faith in the Constitution and attempts to spread “chaos” after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was called by the Enforcement Directorate in the National Herald case compared it with .

Briefing reporters on Mr Shah’s speech, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that PM Modi never did the kind of “drama” that Mr Gandhi did while facing a legitimate investigation.

The BJP’s political resolution praised the Agneepath scheme for short-term recruitment in the armed forces.

Claiming that the BJP would end family rule in states such as Telangana and West Bengal, Mr Shah said it would come to power in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Odisha, states which are still out of the party’s march to power. government at the center in 2014

Criticizing Shah for his remarks, the Trinamool Congress said the people of West Bengal had rejected the “divisive politics” of the BJP in the assembly elections last year.

Trinamool state general secretary Kunal Ghosh said that “Amit Shah, whose dream of capturing power in West Bengal was not fulfilled in 2021”, was yet to “digest the humiliating defeat”.

He said, “If the BJP keeps a mirror to itself, the party will see how it is promoting dynastic politics. This involved the entire officer family – Suvendu and his two brothers – from Bengal’s Purba Medinipur district and Amit Shah had invited Suvendu.” Father Shishir Adhikari in his public meeting. And what about the Scindia family and Kailash Vijayvargiya’s son? In the Trinamool Congress, no such thing happens,” Mr Ghosh said.
