The fourth generation Hyundai Tucson made its global debut in September last year and is expected to arrive in India as well. In fact, Hyundai India has started testing the new generation of the SUV and the spy shots of the test mules have now gone online. The new generation Hyundai Tucson is expected to arrive next year and will sport an entirely new design language for the company, something that will go ahead alongside the Hyundai Creta and possibly the Venue facelift in the future.

The new generation Hyundai Tucson with camouflage hides its major design upgrades. This includes the front styling with a new grille with integrated LED DRLs. The LED headlamps are all new and so is the bumper. Also expected to see are new LED taillight design with more angular body cladding, blacked-out pillars with floating roof aesthetic, and LED light strip at the tailgate. What we can see though, are new alloy wheels, contrasting colored roof rails and chrome around the window on the test mule. The lower variants of the model are likely to get 19-inch alloy wheels along with an 18-inch unit.
Inside, the new generation Hyundai Tucson is likely to carry the same layout and features as the global spec model. These include a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, touch controls for the climate control system, ambient lighting, e-parking brakes and a switch for gear changes instead of the traditional gear lever. The cabin could get all-black upholstery as in the global model or Hyundai could opt for beige and brown options as well to suit the Indian sensibilities.
Power is likely to come from the familiar 2.0-liter turbo petrol and diesel engine options. Units can be customized for better performance and efficiency. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and automatic with all-wheel drive in some variants. More details on the new generation Tucson for India are expected to be revealed in the coming months. Certainly, 2022 will be an important year for the Korean carmaker.
