Next installment of ₹21,000 crore PM-Kisan benefit to come on May 31

On May 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 11th installment of PM-KISAN benefits 21,000 crore to over 10 crore farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) initiative in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. According to a release from the Agriculture Ministry, Narendra Modi will also meet the beneficiaries of 16 schemes and programs run by nine central ministries through video conferencing as part of the national program ‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan’. The national program is part of the year-long ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will attend the program from Pusa campus in Delhi.

PM-KISAN program provides financial incentives to eligible farmer families 6,000 per annum, payable in three equal payments of 2,000. The amount is deposited immediately in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed the tenth installment of the over on January 1 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore farmer families.

According to the ministry, this will be the biggest single event in the country, with nationwide consultations across all districts, during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the recipients about how various central programs have affected their lives.

Central schemes include PM-Kisan, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, POSHAN Abhiyaan, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission (rural and urban), Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT.

These include Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, One Nation-One Ration Card and Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan. Ayushman Bharat, PM Jan Arogya Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Center, and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana are some of the available schemes.

Under the two-phase programme, the state, district and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) level functions will start at 9.45 am and will be linked to the national level program at around 11 am.

The national program will be telecast live on Doordarshan’s national and regional channels. The national program will also be webcast through MyGov, in which people will be able to register.

It can also be viewed through other social media channels such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
