NHA felicitates 1,000 doctors working under PM-JAY

New Delhi: The National Health Authority (NHA) has honored around 1,000 doctors for their work under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) scheme and in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

“Above all, the COWIN platform is the tech-backbone of India’s vaccination campaign, but in spirit it is our network of doctors and medical professionals who have made the world’s largest vaccination campaign a success. Our community of doctors has not only fought against the pandemic but has been instrumental in our fight, but also in ensuring the successful implementation of flagship health schemes like Ayushman Bharat Umbrella Scheme PM-JAY,” said Dr RS Sharma, CEO, NHA, at the fifth of the regional review meeting. In the version ‘called’Ayushman Sangam‘ Held in Pune, Maharashtra.

NHA highlights the performance of states and union territories in western India under the AB PM-JAY scheme.

To motivate the doctors working under the scheme, NHA announced Ayushman Bharat Excellence Medical Award to honor the five best performing doctors working in the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY ecosystem. Another award, Ayushman Bharat Excellence Chikitsalaya Samman, for one best performing hospital under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY in each state, and Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Fellowship also announced. Under this, five health professionals will be given a grant of one year to conduct research.

All these awards will be presented during the anniversary celebrations of AB PM-JAY in September.
