NHA is reviewing applications from over 100 companies to integrate their mobile apps or portals with CoWin

New Delhi In order to augment the National COVID-19 Immunization Programme, the National Health Authority (NHA) is reviewing the applications of over 100 private companies to integrate their mobile applications or portals with the COVIN platform through Application Programming Interface (API). to be integrated with.

Most of the applications come from pharmaceutical companies, travel portals, state governments and banks. Private companies that have applied to use CoWin API include Reliance (Jio Haptik), PhonePe, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Max Bupa, Vodafone Idea, Easy Trip, Google, Ibibo, Makemytrip, ICICI Lombard, Max Healthcare , Infosys, Dr Reddy’s, Paytm and Apollo Hospitals to name a few.

Online pharmacies such as 1mg and pharmacies are also among those allowed. According to the NHA, over 36 government and private organizations have already integrated their mobile applications or portals and 213 more have been approved. Of these, the NHA said, 18 are government organizations and 195 are private enterprises.

“Digital health companies like Tata 1mg can help mobilize beneficiaries and overcome vaccine hesitation through communication, leveraging their huge digital footprint. The API integration will enable Tata 1mg users to book vaccination slots across a network of government approved vaccination centres. This could be an additional place apart from COWIN where customers can come and book their vaccination slot,” said Dr Varun Gupta, senior vice president, Tata 1mg.

Among government organizations, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is also integrating its geo-portal Bhuvan with Vaccination Center Location with CoWIN and provides quick filter based on vaccine availability, dosage, vaccine type in Bhuvan application.

Similarly, as interstate travel opens up, more and more travel companies such as MakeMyTrip are also integrating their apps with CoWin as different states demand COVID-19 vaccination certificates. Not only this, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is also using this service.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and IIT Dharwad, Canara Bank, National Informatics Centre, National Health Mission (NHM) Chhattisgarh and Health Department of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Kerala, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh also permitted as states has given. The Co-Win platform is being used by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for registration, appointment scheduling, management of vaccinations and certification and is being used by all participating facilities in India’s National COVID-19 Immunization Program Is.

At least 31,222 new coronavirus cases were reported in the last 24 hours with 290 deaths. The active caseload currently stands at 3,92,864. The active cases currently account for 1.19% of the total positive cases in the country. The daily positivity rate has dropped to 2.05%.
