NIA raids multiple places in Jammu and Kashmir in Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday raided several locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case. The raids at a total of 12 locations continued till late evening. While 11 of these locations were in the Kashmir Valley (8 in Pulwama district, 1 each in Kulgam, Anantnag and Budgam districts), one was underway in Jammu’s Poonch district.


NIA is probing the case (RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU) pertains to a conspiracy, both in physical and cyber space, and execution of sticky bombs, IEDs and violent terrorist attacks in J&K by terrorist organizations plan to give. guns.

According to the NIA, the plan to carry out terrorist activities in collaboration with local youth/overground workers is part of a larger conspiracy by terrorist groups to create communal disharmony in Jammu and Kashmir.

The terrorist organizations involved in the plot were identified as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr, Al-Qaeda among others.

Searches were also being conducted at the premises of cadres and hybrid overground workers belonging to affiliates and branches of these organizations operating under pseudonyms such as “The Resistance Front (TRF)”, “United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (UL J&K)” . )”, “Mujahideen Ghazwat-ul-Hind (MGH),” “Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF),” “Kashmir Tigers, PAAF and others.


Preliminary investigation by the NIA indicates that these cadres and cadres were involved in the collection and distribution of sticky bombs or magnetic bombs, IEDs, cash, narcotics and small arms.

These weapons, bombs, narcotics etc. were being pushed to Indian soil by Pak-based handlers and commanders of proscribed terrorist organizations using drones to terrorists operating in the Kashmir Valley.


The NIA had conducted several similar raids on June 24 last year at 14 places in Jammu and Kashmir in the said terror conspiracy case.

Searches conducted then in the districts of Srinagar, Baramulla, Pulwama, Anantnag Budgam and Kathua led to the seizure of incriminating material and digital devices. The NIA registered a suo moto case on June 21, 2022 regarding the terrorist conspiracy.
