Nine more DPCs will open in Vatrap and Rajapalayam: Collector

Announcing the opening of nine more Direct Purchase Centers (DPCs) at Rajapalayam and Vatrap, District Collector J Meganath Reddy said this would help farmers to easily sell their paddy on Friday.

Presiding over the grievance redressal meeting of the farmers held at the Collectorate, he said that the district administration would consider their demands and resolve them at the earliest. During the last meeting, after farmers expressed their difficulty to the Collector regarding the issues of selling their produce, he had assured to find a way out.

Thanks to the Collector for his prompt action when the farmers asked him to allow him to lift the alluvial soil ( vandal man), he said 271 tanks have been identified for the purpose. Farmers can pick up from the respective taluks as soon as they received the GO from the government.

He also said that water for irrigation has been released from Pilavkal reservoir. He appealed to the farmers to make good use of water.

During the meeting, when the farmers raised the issue of power interruption, Mr. Meganath Reddy said that in Tamil Nadu, 874 farmers of the district have benefited from the Chief Minister’s one lakh electricity connection scheme. He assured that the bandh complaints would be taken up with the officials of TANGEDCO.

Soon a health camp for cattle (milch cattle and goats) will be organized in Mettupatti village of Sattur and the animal husbandry officials will conduct vaccination drives. He also said that under the Central Government’s program to support farmers with cash assistance of Rs 6,000, he urged farmers to submit applications and get Kisan Credit Card (KCC) through the camps to be organized soon. did.
