Nivetha ready to tackle new challenges

The success of Tamil Nadu Women’s Football in the Senior National Championships has been organic as a lot of planning has gone into it.

R. Nivetha, who was the assistant coach and head coach in the year 2018 and 2019 when TN finished first and third respectively, has been one of the central figures in the development of the sport in the state.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has recognized her talent by inducting Nivetha as an assistant coach at the India U-17 girls’ team camp in Jamshedpur.

She begins her new assignment for a development Indian U-20 team in the Indian Women’s League to be held in Bhubaneswar this month.

“my role [in IWL] Will be there to help players transfer the vision of the head coach (Suren Chhetri), understand their mindset and realize their potential,” said Nivetha Hindu on Tuesday.

His additional role will be to guide the Indian players at the camp in Bhubaneswar for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup to be held in September-October.

Nivetha, a native of Kancheepuram, is a fast learner and she is taking full advantage of the opportunity to strengthen her in every possible field.

“Lots of lessons learned, all at an advanced level. I have to understand the potential of the players and organize the technical and non-technical things; Understand the methods of the head coach and ensure that they reach out to all the players who come from different economic and cultural backgrounds,” said Nivetha.

An employee of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, holding an AFC ‘B’ license with a diploma from the National Institute of Sports (Kolkata), Nivetha said that she has much more to offer and she wants to make the state and the country proud. Will try my best for

“Whatever team I am given, I will try to make the best of it,” the 30-year-old said.
