NMRC will expedite the work of obtaining government nod for DPR for the new metro line

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has decided to expedite the work to get approval from the government to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new metro line to Greater Noida (West).

According to an official statement, NMRC also decided to provide connectivity to commuters between its Aqua Line and DMRC’s Blue Line between Sector 51 and Sector 52 metro stations.

These and some other decisions were taken during the 28th board meeting of NMRC, which operates the metro rail project between the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida, adjoining Delhi.

Ritu Maheshwari, Managing Director, NMRC said, “The Board has decided to expedite the approval of Government of India for DPR from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V by November 2021 in a positive manner.”

“It has also been decided to provide alternate seamless connectivity between Sector 51 and 52 metro stations to the passengers of NMRC Aqua Line and DMRC Blue Line on priority,” he said.

Maheshwari said, “The board also decided to explore efficient bus routes by inducting small size buses to increase the metro ridership and provide last mile connectivity to the commuters and provide bus services on that.”

The NMRC board also gave its approval for the creation of the post of Director (Finance) and the balance sheet for the financial year 2020 – 2021.

The board meeting was convened online at the Sector-6 office of the Noida Authority and was presided over by Kamran Rizvi, Chairman, NMRC and Additional Secretary, MoHUA.
