No bio-bubble for India’s home series against Proteas: BCCI Sources Cricket News – Times of India

New Delhi: BCCI Keeping the mental health of the cricketers in mind, the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa is likely to eliminate the bio-bubble.
Bio-bubbles became a part of the lives of cricketers, as almost all series (home and away) are played in a strict bio-secure environment. COVID-19 global pandemic.
The T20 series will be played from June 9 to 19 at five venues – Delhi, Cuttack, Vizag, Rajkot, Bengaluru.
The IPL, which is being played in a bio-bubble for the safety of players and officials, will also end on May 29 and the BCCI does not want its players to move to any other confined space after the conclusion of the league.
A senior BCCI official, on the condition of anonymity, told PTI, “If all goes well and things remain under control as they are now, there will be no bio-bubbles and hard quarantine during the home series against South Africa. ”
“Then we’re going to Ireland and England and there won’t be any bio-bubbles in those countries either.”
The Board is aware that bubble life is not sustainable in the long run as being confined to restricted areas can have a serious impact on the mental health of players.
“Some players get breaks from time to time, but if you look at the bigger picture, being in one bio-bubble series after another and now two months of IPL is exhausting for the players,” he said.
In the UK, as of now there are no bio-bubbles for any sporting activity and hence the Indian team is expected to have a free environment in the country where they will play one Test and six white-ball games in a span of three weeks. ,
However it is understood that the players will be tested at regular intervals to ensure that there is no positive case within the group.
