No connection between the killings: Railway Police

Byappanahalli police have ascertained more details in the murder case of a woman whose body was packed in a blue plastic drum and left at the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal in Byappanahalli on Sunday evening. Sources said the investigation revealed that there was no link between the accused and two similar cases that had come up earlier.

This was the third case of an unidentified woman’s body being found at a railway station in the city in three months, leading to speculations whether the three cases were linked.

Based on the complaint, the police traced the attackers through CCTV footage and detained them for questioning. On the basis of their information, the police identified the deceased as Soumyalatha. Police is further probing the case to ascertain the involvement of others.

On Sunday evening, Railway Protection Force officials found the abandoned drum outside the entrance of the station. After looking closely at the drum, he opened the lid and found a decomposed body of a woman inside.
