No more RT-PCR: Travelers from this country will not need Kovid-19 test

Passengers arriving in India from or via Singapore will not be required to have a negative report from pre-departure COVID-19 test nor upload a self-health declaration on the Air Suvidha portal with effect from 11 am on February 13.

The health ministry has revised travel guidelines after six places (including Singapore) saw a “sustained and significant decline in the trajectory of Covid-19 cases” over the past four weeks, tweeted the Indian High Commission in Singapore.

The first set of COVID-19 travel recommendations issued by India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in January stated that all foreign arrivals from China, Singapore, hong kongSouth Korea, Thailand and Japan will now have to submit a negative RT-PCR report from a test done 72 hours before departure.

The January release said pre-departure RT-PCR testing is a requirement 72 hours before boarding a flight for all passengers arriving from these six COVID-19 high-risk countries. For all entry, all Indian airports are required to comply with this law, which is true for all passengers passing through these six countries, regardless of where they are from.
