No need to go to police station for passport verification: Mumbai top police officer

In case of any discrepancy, the applicant can be called to the police station, the official said.

Mumbai:

Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey has said that no citizen will be called to the police station here for the passport verification process, as was done earlier, an official said on Sunday.

After the new order of Commissioner Pandey, now a constable will go to the address mentioned by the passport applicant to complete the process. In case of any discrepancy, the applicant can be called to the police station, the official said.

Commissioner Pandey said in a Twitter post on Saturday, “#PassportVerification. We have decided that no citizen will be called to the police station in Mumbai except in exceptional cases of incomplete documents etc. If not followed, report it.”
