No question of going with BJP: Sharad Pawar on options if government falls in Maharashtra

Amid a huge crisis for Maharashtra’s ruling coalition after 22 MLAs revolted, NCP leader Sharad Pawar on Tuesday said there is no question of going with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) if the government falls in the state.

“We will find a way out of this situation,” Pawar said. He alleged that a third attempt was being made to topple the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra. Maharashtra But expressed confidence that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray would be able to handle the situation.

The former Union minister said he may “meet” Thackeray tonight and will leave for Mumbai soon after the opposition meeting on the joint presidential candidate.

“There are no differences in the alliance and everyone has full faith in Thackeray’s leadership,” he told reporters.

Talking to reporters, the NCP leader said, “We are confident that Uddhav Thackeray will sort it out.” ,

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra coalition plunged into a crisis after minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and 21 more MLAs moved to a hotel in Surat in BJP-ruled Gujarat.

According to reports, Eknath Shinde, who has been troubled for some time, wants to become the CM.

Meanwhile, Shinde, who is camping in Surat with some MLAs of his party, has said that he will never “cheat for power” and will abandon the teachings of Bal Thackeray.

Shinde tweeted in Marathi, “We are Balasaheb’s staunch Shiv Sainiks who taught us Hindutva lessons. We will never cheat for power and will never give up the teachings of Balasaheb and Anand Dighe for power.” by him in the state

The Shiv Sena veteran from Thane was the political mentor of the late Dighe Shinde. Shinde and some MLAs of the ruling Shiv Sena have lost touch and are camping in Surat, a move that is putting a question mark on the stability of the Thackeray-led MVA government, which also includes the NCP and Congress.
