Noida:

Ahead of the Noida Supertech Twin Tower demolition today at 2.30 pm, the police have made several contingency plans to avoid any mishap.

Noida Senior Police Officer Rajesh S said all roads leading to the two towers have been sealed off and a 450-metre blast zone has been created. In addition, seven CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance and two National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been kept on standby.

The police have also set up a mini control room 450 meters away from the towers.

A special dust machine has been installed at the demolition site to monitor the pollution level after the blast. Eight fire tenders and six ambulances have been kept on standby in case of emergency.

Apart from two teams of NDRF, 560 police personnel and over 100 personnel of reserve forces have been deployed to assist the officers.

According to the police, the expressway will be closed at 2.15 pm and will be reopened half an hour after the blast.

“People are requested to be careful while looking through the windows,” the senior police officer said. “After the explosion, apply double masks even inside the houses.”

Two towers, Apex (32 storeys) and Cayenne (29 storeys), were found to be in violation of several rules, after which a protracted court battle resulted in the Supreme Court ordering them to be demolished.
