Noida: Noida Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday night arrested two persons for allegedly kidnapping the owner of an auto garage in Ghaziabad.
According to policeThe accused have been identified as Jasveer alias Kalu and Yogesh, both residents of Aligarh. While the absconding accused are Amit Sharma and Shahjwan.
The accused on November 12 Kidnapping Amit Kumar, who runs an auto garage in Tila Mor area. Police has saved Kumar.
DSP (Noida-STF) Raj Kumar Mishra told TOI that the STF was tracking Jasvir, who is a sharp shooter and also a well-known arms dealer in Delhi-NCR, Madhya Pradesh and western UP, for a long time.
“On Saturday evening, we got information that Jasveer along with some of his associates has kidnapped a person. They were traveling with the victim in a Polo car (DL 1 CX 0875). The STF had also confirmed the kidnapping case at Tila Mor police station, in which they came to know that Ghaziabad Police have registered a case under IPC section 364 (kidnapping).
Talking about the modus operandi of the work, Mishra said that the accused used to target those people who had goods shop or small business. Later, one of them posed as a policeman and asked to pay the security amount. “When the victim refused, the accused would have kidnapped the person. They used to ask the victim to call her friends or relatives and ask them to come with cash to release the person. The gang will demand money as per the deal which will be between Rs 3-5 lakh,” the DSP said.
In this case, Sharma had chosen the target and went to meet Kumar in police uniform. “We rescued the victim safely and handed him over to his family. While we have arrested two accused including Jasvir, but two gang members escaped from the spot. We have formed two teams to nab them,” said Mishra.
