/ Ponoida: Amidst complaints about not getting books, stationery and bags etc. to the students of government primary schools of the district, the Basic Education Department distributed new books, stationery, shoes, bags, towels etc. to about 250 students of Kasturba for the first time. Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) dadri, jewaro And Dankaur block.
Sports equipments were also provided to the students of these schools.
“On the instructions of BSA A Lakshmi, around 250 girls of KGBVs of Dadri, Jewar and Dankaur were given books, bags, shoes, stationery, clothes and sports related equipment. This is done to ensure their holistic development without any lack of facilities,” said Ashutosh Mishra District Coordinator Basic Education Department.
Presently, there are 100 KGBV students in Dadri, 100 in Jewar and 50 in Dankaur block. GB Nagar,
the government of India launched the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) scheme in August 2004 to set up residential schools at the upper primary level for girls from economically weaker sections of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and other minorities.
