Kim Jong Un praised another successful demonstration of the country’s strategic nuclear strike capability.

Seoul:

North Korea has tested a pair of long-range strategic cruise missiles, with leader Kim Jong Un in another successful demonstration of the country’s strategic nuclear strike capability, state media reported on Thursday.

It was the latest in a series of provocative weapons tests that have raised tensions on the Korean peninsula – and raised fears that Pyongyang could conduct its first nuclear test since 2017.

The Korean Central News Agency said Kim personally oversaw Wednesday’s tests of the missiles, which traveled 2,000 kilometers (1,240 miles) over the ocean. It said the projectiles hit their intended targets, but did not specify what they were.

KCNA said the North Korean leader expressed “great satisfaction” at the tests, which were designed to boost the missile’s combat capability, “deployed to units of the Korean People’s Army for tactical nuclear operations,” KCNA said. Told.

North Korea said this week its recent missile tests included a “strategic nuclear” exercise to hit the South.

The agency said Kim highly appreciated the high response capabilities of our nuclear combat forces.
