Nothing Phone 1 round-up: What we know ahead of July 12 launch

Nothing Phone 1 launch is now just a few days away, and it’s fair to say that we don’t know anything about most of the details of the first smartphone. Carl Pei has used his marketing blitz to put the product at the top of everyone’s memory, making it the most talked about topic on social media.

The company’s founder has also given some interviews to keep the product in the news. So, what do we know about the Nothing Phone 1, its design, features and likely pricing. Here’s a quick round-up of everything we already know about the Nothing Phone 1.

Design with an Attractive Twist

Nothing in the Phone 1 will incorporate the glyph interface from all corners. The device gets multiple LED notification lights that work in symmetry and extend in all aspects at the back, which gets a transparent body panel. These LEDs flow through the camera module to the charging port, so you have a charging indicator. This is unlikely to be the end of the integration, and we will know about it on July 12th.

The front of the phone has a simple punch-hole design and a small chin to give you a bigger screen. Nothing Nothing is rumored to use a higher refresh rate AMOLED display on the Phone 1.

hardware to tickle things

Nothing confirms the phone 1 to be powered by the Snapdragon 778+ chipset. We expect the phone to come in 8GB and possibly 12GB RAM variant. Storage options can go up to 256GB, and we expect the space to be expandable. This Snapdragon SoC has proven to be reliable and power-efficient.

But going with this hardware means that nothing wants to compete with flagships, and while it’s a fair move, there’s a lot of competition in this segment as well. So, nothing will make the Phone 1 a compelling case if it is priced around Rs 30,000 in the market.

To justify the software hype

Nothing is mentioned about its outlook on the design of its software as well as differences in the market. The Nothing OS Launcher is believed to take us back to the early days of OnePlus’ OxygenOS. And if the experience is anywhere close to it, Nothing OS may prove to be a viable alternative among other Chinese brands in the market.

quality focusing cameras

Nothing The rear panel of the Phone 1 has confirmed that the company is going with a dual rear camera setting. If by cutting down on the number of sensors, nothing can improve the quality, then we are all set for it.

What else can it offer

Nothing the Phone 1 is expected to feature about a 4,500mAh battery unit that should have received 45W wired charging, which has now come down to 33W. However, the Nothing Phone 1 offers wireless charging support, which is good to see in the mid-range segment. Now, we don’t know how much speed will be supported in this mode, but alternatives are always welcome.

nothing phone 1 global launch is on 12th july and hopefully the phone will debut India around the same time. Stay tuned to News18 Tech for all the updates on the event.
