Now Swiggy employees can take another job under ‘Moonlighting Policy’

Swiggy on Wednesday introduced a ‘moonlighting policy’, which means employees can work on other projects after working hours. The food delivery platform claims this to be an industry-first policy wherein employees will be allowed to work on other jobs under certain conditions.

“This may include activity outside office hours or on weekends that does not affect their productivity on a full-time job or conflicts of interest with Swiggy’s business in any way,” a company release said. “

According to Swiggy, during the nationwide lockdown COVID-19A significant portion of the people in this country discovered new interests and talents and an extracurricular activity could prove to be a new source of income for families.

“Whether volunteering with an NGO, working as a dance instructor, or creating content for social media, Swiggy firmly believes that working on such projects outside of one’s full-time employment is an opportunity for an individual. Can contribute significantly to both professional and personal development.” Added this release.

moonlight policy The company will also set strict guidelines for the employees as the company cannot tolerate the incompetence of its employees.

The policy can be availed by full-time employees of Bundle Technologies (which runs the Swiggy app), including its subsidiaries, affiliates, associates and group companies. An approval process shall apply whenever the Company considers that an external project may pose a conflict of interest with the duties of its employees.

“With Moonlighting Policy, we aim to encourage employees to pursue their passion without any hindrance due to their full time employment. This is yet another step in our journey towards creating a world class ‘People First’ organization. ” Girish Menon of Human Resources Department at Swiggy said according to the release.

Last week, Swiggy Also announced a permanent work-from-anywhere policy for most of his roles. The decision came after feedback from multiple managers and as per the needs of the team.
