NTPC FY23 power generation up 11%, profit up 5.62%

New Delhi: State-owned power giant NTPC has reported 11% year-on-year (YoY) growth in power generation and 5.62% growth in profit for FY 2022-23, according to the company’s financial results released today.

NTPC Group achieved a record annual generation of 399 billion units in FY23, a significant jump from 361 billion units in the previous fiscal, showing a growth of 11%. NTPC’s standalone gross generation has reached 344 billion units, which is again a growth of 11%, said a company statement.

The company’s coal stations stood at an impressive Plant Load Factor of 75.90% during FY23, which is higher than the national average of 64.21%.

NTPC’s financial performance also showed positive results. Total income increased on a standalone basis 167,724 crore for FY23 from last year 124,750 crores. The net profit for the last financial year stood at 17,197 crore, an increase of 5.62% as compared to Rs. 16,282 crore in FY22.

On a consolidated basis, NTPC Group reported a total income of 177,977 crore for FY23, showing a growth of 31.84% year on year. The group’s profit after tax for FY23 was 17,121 crores, above 16,960 crores in the previous year.

The Board of Directors of NTPC has recommended a final dividend equal to 30% of the paid-up share capital. 3 per equity share with a face value of 10 each for FY23, subject to approval in the ensuing Annual General Meeting.
