Several messages and social media posts against the VC have been circulated in the public domain by a section of protesters in the past few days after the university syndicate unanimously decided to conduct offline tests and take special classes for certain subjects if the syllabus is not completed. The VC in his statement said, “Some messages/social media posts which are circulating in the public domain and/or are coming to me on behalf of certain persons, which are in consonance with the decision of the University to conduct the examination offline. are against, they are violent and hateful, and some of them are also vulgar and misogynistic.” She said, “I condemn such illegal and unethical and wrong tactics.” The VC said that he should not be singled out for any decision taken by the university authorities.

He said that the decision to conduct the offline examination was taken by the members of all the Faculty Councils, all the Chairpersons of the Graduate Board of Studies and most of the Principals. Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad state president Trinankur Bhattacharya said, “Such abusive language cannot be an expression of a student. We strongly condemn such words.
