Odisha: Schools will reopen from January 3, students will be vaccinated, more details

Amid rising concerns over the COVID-19 virus, the Odisha government has announced its decision to reopen schools for classes 1 to 5 with effect from January 3, 2022. Odisha’s School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das has said that a total of 27,000 schools will reopen. Timings from 9 am to 12 noon.

Additionally, students above 15 years of age will be vaccinated under government guidelines.

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday reviewed the work of various departments under “Mo Sarkar”.

Giving instructions to the officers, Patnaik said, “Our target is not only the satisfaction of the public but also continuous uninterrupted service, so we all have to make constant changes to solve the problems of the people.”

He further said that the ‘Mo Sarkar’ program is going on for two years.

“This change in governance at the administrative level has instilled public confidence in the government. This process is now capable of bringing about a change in behavior among various officers and employees of the state government,” he said.

The Chief Minister also expressed satisfaction that the State Government has continued its efforts to bring about professional behavior among the Government officials. Government officials are now treating people with more responsibility and compassion.

Patnaik advised the officers to ensure that the administration functions in a goal-oriented environment with the highest priority on issues related to the general public, such practices will further strengthen our intention to provide effective governance and zero tolerance for corruption .

Presently the “Mo Sarkar” program covers 222 services in 24 government departments and regular feedback is being collected from the people by the government.
