Ola Electric, the red-hailing app’s EV arm, has announced to have secured ₹1100 crore in combined sales for the two days when the purchase window of its electric scooter was open. The company started online sales of its electric scooter, which is offered in two variants – S1, and S1 Pro. on September 15, 2021, and kept the purchase window open for 48 hours till September 16, 2021. Preference was given to customers who had already booked Ola scooters when the online reservations were opened by the company in July 2021.

In an official statement released by the company, Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO, Ola Group said, “In a total of 2 days, we have done over ₹1100 crore in sales! This is not only unprecedented in the automotive industry, but it is also one of the highest . Sales in one day (by price) for a single product in Indian e-commerce history! We are truly living in a digital India.”

On the first day of the online sale, the company ended the day by selling electric scooters worth more than ₹600 crore. When the purchase window is open, customers can book the scooter online for a minimum booking amount of ₹20,000. However, if you missed the purchase window, you can still reserve a spot for yourself online for ₹499 for the next sale day, which will now be on November 1, 2021.

Agarwal further added, “While the purchase window is now closed, our reservations are open on olaelectric.com and I would like to inform all of you that we will be re-opening the purchase window on November 1, 2021, in time for Diwali. So, if you are looking to buy Ola S1 and S1 Pro, I encourage you to book as early as possible. Those who have already booked but didn’t buy in the window that ended yesterday will also be able to buy on November 1st. . “
