Ola Group CEO Bhavish Agarwal has announced that the company sold electric scooters worth over Rs 600 crore within the first 24 hours of the sale. Ola Electric started the sale of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters on September 16, 2021. Customers can book the scooter online for a minimum of Rs 20,000, while deliveries are slated to begin in October this year in 1000 cities and towns. The company was originally scheduled to start sales on September 8, but the plan was delayed after glitches in its website. Currently, the company is accepting orders through its mobile app.

“We sold 4 scooters every second. In fact, in just 24 hours, we sold scooters worth over 600 crores. This is more than the scooters sold in a day by the entire 2W industry in terms of value. Customers can book Ola scooters only till midnight tonight (September 16), before the order books are filled

Agarwal also said that today (September 16, 2021) will be the last day for consumers to buy these scooters. Customers who have already booked will be given preference and can shop tonight till midnight. The Ola S1 is priced at ₹1 Lakh, while the S1 Pro is priced at ₹ 1.30 Lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Prices have come down on the basis of state subsidies across the country.
