Ola Electric starts procurement of S1, S1 Pro electric scooters

The Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters are available for purchase exclusively on the Ola app and the process is completely digital.

The procurement process for the Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters has begun

Ola Electric has announced the procurement process for the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters on September 15, 2021. The purchase of the two electric scooters is open to all who have made reservations, and will be done in batches with priority. Users based on the dates of their reservation. Customers who have booked an Ola electric scooter will be notified through email, SMS and/or push notification. Customers can visit the Ola app, click on the Ola Scooter banner on the home page and start the purchase process.

The top-spec Ola S1 Pro is available in a choice of 10 colours, and gets additional features like hill hold, cruise control and voice assistant.

Customers can then choose between the S1 and S1 Pro, and choose from a choice of colors offered on each variant. The selection can also be modified if a customer changes his mind. Customers need to pay ₹20,000 upfront to buy an Ola S1 or Ola S1 Pro electric scooter, and the rest before shipment. The advance is fully refundable if a customer wishes to cancel his/her booking. Cancellation is allowed only till the scooter is shipped from Ola Futurefactory. Customers can also avail convenient EMI options on making balance payments after making an upfront payment of ₹20,000.

Customers can book an Ola electric scooter for ₹499 through the Ola app. The first payment after receiving the notification for the purchase process is ₹ 20,000. The balance amount needs to be paid before the scooter is shipped, and can be paid in full or in easy EMIs.

Customers can insure Ola scooters with the insurance offerings of Ola Financial Services. As per the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) 5 years third party insurance is mandatory with the purchase of new scooter, and is required for the registration process. Anyone who wants to book an Ola electric scooter can still do so on the Ola app for ₹499. The deliveries of the Ola electric scooter will start from October 2021.
