Ola S1 rider seriously injured, scooter overturns at high speed

Another incident related to Ola’s electric scooter has come to light, in which one person was again seriously injured. In an incident shared on LinkedIn, Pallava Maheshwari revealed that a software bug on his S1 Pro scooter had left his father hospitalized with serious injuries after the scooter shifted to reverse gear at full speed . Maheshwari revealed that his father was parking the bus when the scooter went into reverse at full speed, resulting in his father breaking his arm and hitting a wall with a head injury.

As per reports, Maheshwari took the delivery of the scooter on January 15 and this was not the first time such an incident had happened. Pesheshwari reportedly recalled a similar incident of a scooter going in reverse which happened on the second day of his ownership, though it was ignored as the incident did not happen again. Ola also recently fixed the vehicle control unit of its scooter, as part of a silent series of fixes undertaken by the company mainly to address battery-related issues.

Maheshwari has blamed the company for handling the issues with its products despite several complaints of similar incidents in the past.

Carandbike contacted Ola Electric for further details of the incident. The company has yet to issue an official statement, but a spokesperson told carandbike, “The service team is in contact with the customer, and we are looking forward to an update soon, and will issue a statement on the actual issue.” “

Earlier in March, another Ola electric scooter rider was admitted to a hospital in Guwahati after being seriously injured when his scooter accelerated instead of slowing down after going over the speedbreaker.
