Animal videos are some of the most viewed and loved videos on the internet as they brighten up our day and fill us with joy. One such adorable video of a raccoon mimicking the dance moves of a woman has resurfaced on the internet. However, the video has drawn mixed reactions from internet users and has sparked a debate about animal cruelty.

The video shows a raccoon from inside the zoo’s enclosure, perfectly mimicking the dance moves of a woman while she pretends to rap. The video was shared on Twitter by a user named Morissa Schwartz, which has garnered over 1.2 million views, 51,000 likes and over 1,000 retweets.

“Cool moves” is the caption of the post shared on April 19.

While some users were amazed, others felt that the animal’s dance was actually caused by psychosis due to being kept in captivity.

One user wrote, “It seems quite chill to hang out with.” Another said, “Yeah, cool moves, but this shouldn’t happen at the zoo.” Anyway, loved it.

Some have cited this as an example of ‘zoocosis’, a psychological disorder that can develop in captive animals.

A third wrote, “This move is because of his incarceration…and it’s not fun.” Abnormal behavior signs of abuse and captivity. I mean do you really think raccoons can dance with you.

A fifth said, тАЬRepetitive movements due to stress! It’s not funny.” The sixth commented, “Not cool. Usually animals do things like this when they feel trapped and scared.”

Yet another added, “The raccoons don’t have a dance party.” They are worried about being imprisoned!!
