Orcas are sea creatures also known as killer whales. They are the largest members of the dolphin family and belong to a subgroup of toothed whales known as odontocetes. Orcas are extremely popular because they are the most widely distributed of all whales and dolphins, found in every ocean.

Orcas have an average lifespan of 30 to 50 years in the wild. They are famous for their black and white coloration, but can have different appearance, behavior, communication style, and diet depending on the area they are found.

They usually swim at a speed of about three to four miles per hour, but can reach up to 40 miles per hour in short bursts.

Orcas prey on everything from fish to walruses, seals, sea lions, penguins, squid, sea turtles, sharks, and even other types of whales.
