Omega Seki Mobility has invested USD 200 million in a new plant in Visakhapatnam.

Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturer, Omega Seki is coming up with a new manufacturing plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and as per news reports this plant will be mainly used for export of its newly launched Electric Light Commercial Vehicle (ELCV). will be done for Its overall production is dedicated to global markets. The plant in Visakhapatnam is Omega Seki’s first CV manufacturing facility dedicated to a range of light, medium and heavy duty electric commercial vehicles in the company’s pipeline.

The new plant will cater to both the local market and export demand.

Omega Seki has invested around USD 200 million in the Visakhapatnam plant and plans to start soon with manufacturing heavy duty electric trucks. Recently, a prototype of the OSM M1KA which is based on a new generation modular EV platform was also spotted testing. The company will also introduce other Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) for the company. The new OSM M1KA HCV has payload capacities of 1.5, 3.5 and 6.5 tonnes, and is likely to be offered in two variants. The OSM M1KA HCV can be used for a range of applications including Courier, Consignment Delivery, E-commerce and FMCG.

Omega Seiki’s new OSM M1KA HCV was recently spied testing.

Apart from the local market demand, the new plant will cater to markets such as Africa, the Gulf countries and the ASEAN region in Phase 1 and plans to expand to markets such as the US and Europe in Phase II. Recently, the company also announced a strategic partnership with Goenka Green Pvt Ltd to open over 500 dealerships across India by FY 2023-24.
