Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on January 3 dubbed the Omicron version of the coronavirus a “common viral fever”, but said it is important to take precautions even then.

Speaking to reporters in Lucknow after inspecting the COVID-19 vaccination program for children aged 15-18 years, Mr. Adityanath said, “It is true that omicrons spread rapidly, but it is also true that wave against another [of the pandemic], the Omicron version is quite weak. He said that eight omicron cases have been reported in Uttar Pradesh so far and out of the patients, three have been cured and others are in home isolation.

Referring to the COVID vaccination program for children in the age group of 15-18 years, Mr. Adityanath said that 1.4 crore beneficiaries would be given vaccine doses under the campaign and 2,150 booths have been set up across the state for the purpose. 39 are included in Lucknow. ,
