On camera, wildfire engulfs passenger train in Spain amid Europe’s heatwave

More than 350 people have died due to heatstroke in Spain.

Passengers on a train in Spain found themselves engulfed in flames as wildfire near a track in the northwestern province of Zamora on Monday.

The train was on its way from Madrid to Ferrol when it came to a temporary halt due to flames near the road. A video of the tense moment is now doing the rounds on social media, which shows the passengers in the vehicle panicking as they look out the windows.

The clip recorded a view of the train to the right, with a row of orange flames visible outside. The video then moved to the left, which also showed similar fiery scenes.

The train company, Renfe, shared a series of warnings on the fire on Twitter and confirmed that rail services between Otero de Bodas and Zamora had been suspended.
