In an exclusive interview with ANI, when the actor was asked about the audience’s love, he said, “Whatever film I do, I think it will be my last film. Because I don’t know if I will get another chance or someone will show faith in me again. But I think the audience’s dreams were always bigger for me. Like they always used to say that Adah should have been given this or that role…I think, all those dreams have come true now. I am very lucky.”
When asked if the actor expected the film to be a remarkable success, she said, “I can’t believe it because I didn’t expect this kind of response, but ‘Thank you’ is all I can say”. ”
“My dreams were always small like I wanted to play with an elephant or a dog. I wanted to do good roles, but I didn’t know how many I would get.”
Taking a dig at nepotism, Sharma said, “I think I am very lucky. I never dreamed of something like this. I thought it is not possible for a girl who does not belong to the industry. And could get so much love from the audience.
“I was really impressed to see that so many people came and saw the film. I feel like our dreams have come true. When we started making this film, we had the idea that it would be a girl-friendly film. The beach is meant to spread awareness. I am so glad that so many people are watching it now so that they can know what the real story was and what is happening that was kept hidden.”
The actor concluded by talking about the warm reception people have received for his film. “As an actor, you always want people to see your work. I am happy that I got such an opportunity. I used to wonder if I would have to be reborn as Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’ to get such an opportunity in this life. But I got it and I am really happy that people are watching the film and appreciating it so much.”
The film has entered the 100 crore club and is classified as a blockbuster at the box-office. ‘The Kerala Story’ was released on May 5, 2023.
