Apart from these events, one thing that made him “happy” was when he returned to his “old workplace” at Tripura Medical College, where he performed a dental surgery on a 10-year-old boy.

Shah, who recently turned 70, was a dentist by profession and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dental surgery from Government Dental College, Patna and King George’s Medical College, Lucknow.

Taking to Twitter, the Chief Minister shared pictures from the operation theater and said there was no difficulty in performing the surgery after a long gap.

“Happy to have performed surgery on 10 year old Akshit Ghosh for Oral Cystic Lesion at my old workplace Tripura Medical College. There was no problem in doing surgery after a long gap. Patient is now in good condition,” he tweeted.

Saha has also taught Dental Surgery as Professor at Tripura Medical College and Dr. Bram Teaching Hospital in Agartala.

Saha, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016, replaced Biplab Kumar Deb as the chief minister of Tripura in May last year. Assembly elections are due in Tripura this year. In the 2018 assembly elections in Tripura, the BJP had won 35 seats.
