Opposition MLAs create ruckus in Uttarakhand Assembly, suspended

Angered by the Speaker’s decision, opposition MLAs, mostly from the Congress, rushed to the Speaker’s chair and created ruckus in the House, climbed onto the Assembly Secretary’s table and raised slogans against the BJP government.

Proceedings of the Uttarakhand Assembly were adjourned till 3 pm on Tuesday as opposition legislators created ruckus in the House over Speaker Ritu Khanduri’s decision to turn down a breach of privilege motion moved by them.

Angered by the Speaker’s decision, opposition MLAs, mostly from the Congress, rushed towards the Speaker’s chair and created ruckus in the House, climbed onto the Assembly Secretary’s table and raised slogans against the BJP government.

When the speaker’s repeated appeals to the opposition MLAs to calm down and return to their seats went unheeded, he suspended all the MLAs involved in the ruckus for a day and adjourned the house till 3 pm. Gave.

A breach of privilege motion was moved by opposition member Adesh Chauhan against the Udham Singh Nagar SSP, which was rejected by the Speaker on the basis of a report submitted to him by the state government.

Later speaking to the media, the speaker said that such indecent behavior is not right inside the assembly.

If he had a problem with the decision, a way out could have been found through dialogue. This kind of uncontrolled behavior is not right at all.
