Order to demolish 2 bungalows in CRZ Goa News – Times of India

Panaji: In Two In separate cases, the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has ordered destruction two illegal constructions bungalows Feather betalbatim and an illegally manufactured swimming pool Feather colwaleBoth in the No-Development Zone (NDZ) of the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ,
In the first case, the authority had received a complaint in 2020 stating that two bungalows of about 120 sqm have been built within the CRZ area at Betalabatim. GCZMA noted that the violator failed to produce documents to prove that any structure existed at the site prior to 1991.
“The structures are indisputably within the No Development Zone. The respondent has failed to submit an approved plan from any licensing authority. The respondents have clearly and categorically violated the CRZ norms by constructing the said structures within the NDZ of CRZ III, Betalabatim village,” the authority noted in its meeting earlier this month.
It also said that the violator had adopted the strategy of delay by continuously seeking more time but could not produce any relevant documents to support his case.
Therefore, the GCZMA directed the demolition of the two bungalows and asked the violator to restore the land to its original condition.
In the second case activist Kashinath Shetty had alleged illegal construction in Colwale.
The GCZMA, while hearing the case, said that the violator was earlier ordered to remove all additional constructions done after 1991, but only a part of the demolition was done.
GCZMA said, “The records show that a site inspection was carried out on September 7, 2021. In the said report the expert member of GCZMA has clearly mentioned that a swimming pool and pavers placed along the river have not been removed. Has gone.”
The authority said that the violator has not produced any record to prove that the swimming pool and pavers along the river existed before 1991.
GCZMA said, “The Authority, in view of the observations and findings, decided to issue a demolition to the swimming pool, which was adjacent to the structure and pavers along the river belonging to the respondent.”
