Other Disney movies ‘Eternal’ to release exclusively in theaters after ‘Shang-Chi’ success

Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” remake and the long-delayed “The King’s Man” will run in US theaters for 45 days before becoming available for streaming on Disney Plus.

Buoyed by the strong performance of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” at the US box office, Hollywood studio Disney has announced that its upcoming films including “Eternal” will get a special theatrical window.

“Eternals,” one of the much-anticipated 2021 titles, as well as Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” remake and the long-delayed “Kingsman” prequel “The King’s Man,” will move to the US, the studio said in a statement. In theaters for 45 days before becoming available for streaming on Disney Plus.

Filmmaker Ridley Scott’s “The Last Duel”, which has an October 15 release date, and the animated feature “Rons Gone Wrong”, which is set for October 22, are also getting 45-day theater windows.

“Eternals,” the upcoming superhero tentpole from Disney-owned Marvel Studios, will make its debut on November 5, while “West Side Story” hits theaters on December 10.

Many times postponed ‘The King’s Man’ will be released on December 22.

The studio further announced that Walt Disney Animation Studios’ musical “Encanto” would hit theaters on November 24, with a 30-day special theater window before coming to the streaming service Disney Plus on December 24.

As reported by Variety, Disney has also announced new release dates for its films from various divisions.

The Searchlight Pictures project Guillermo del Toro’s “Nightmare Alley”, has gone on wide release from December 3 to December 17th.

It will compete with ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ co-produced by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.

Disney’s live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid,” starring Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy, will debut in theaters on May 26, 2023.

“The Bob’s Burger Movie”, based on the animated television series of the same name, will be released on May 27, 2022.
