T’PURAM: The state recorded 11,136 cases out of 60,414 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 18.43%.
In the last few days, 69 more deaths were recorded as Covid deaths and 77 deaths were added to the appeal, taking the death toll to 62,199.
The total active cases are 1,60,330, of which 4.1% are either admitted in hospitals or other treatment centres. At the same time, 32,004 patients have been cured.
Of the new cases, 10,331 were infected through local contact and the source of 668 is unknown. Of those who had come from outside the state, 56 tested positive and 81 healthcare workers also tested positive.
