He challenged the matter in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) where a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the matter.
Announcing the verdict, the bench ordered that after dropping the charges under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, proceedings on other sections of the case would continue in the forum concerned.
Khan was also charged with violating section 144 and later an FIR, including sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 186 (imprisonment for three months) was added to. and 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (disobedience to a law promulgated order by a public servant).
After the man’s anti-terrorism charges were dropped, the case has lost steam. However, Khan is not out of the woods yet as the IHC is also proceeding against her in contempt of court based on the same remarks against the woman judge.
Khan was ousted in April after losing a no-confidence vote in his leadership, which he accused of a US-led conspiracy to target Russia, China and Afghanistan because of his independent foreign policy decisions. was part of.
The cricketer-turned-politician, who came to power in 2018, is the only Pakistani prime minister to be ousted in a no-confidence motion in parliament.
Earlier, an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad had extended the bail of the PTI chief till September 20 in the terrorism case against him.
Khan has also repeatedly not appeared before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the case registered against him under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) at a police station in Islamabad.
