Pakistan fans outraged over ‘wet outfield’ as India beat Bangladesh in T20 World Cup thriller

Rain delay, Liton Das’s show, and late scare by Noorul Hassan. Pakistan cricket fans’ prayers went unheeded despite Bangladesh fighting a real fight against Indians in rain-hit T20 World Cup match at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan’s hopes have started to break with this. India One lakh also got shattered into pieces as Arshdeep Singh managed to score 20 runs in the final over. Initially India’s chase of 185 runs, a rain show in Adelaide reduced the total to 151 in 16 overs.

India bounced back with some decent catches in the outfield after KL Rahul dismissed Dangerman Das (60 off 27) with an unbelievable direct hit at the non-striker’s end after the restart.

Bangladesh faced a batting line-up after Das’s return but Hasan kept the Tigers’ hopes alive. In the end, Arshdeep Singh kept his nerves as India registered a 5 run win over Bangladesh.

While Bangladesh fans were quite upset, it was Pakistani Twitter, which backed Shakib’s team to victory, to remain in the hunt for the World Cup, that was outraged at the results.

Many praised Bangladesh for their spirited performance and their persistence in the hunt till the last ball, but they blamed the match officials for resuming the match “early” despite the wet outfield.

It should be noted here that courtesy the victory of India, Pakistan’s chances of qualifying for the semi-finals have gone down.

There were memes, there was outrage, and there was disappointment all over Twitter.
