In Pakistan (Pakistan), target attackers opened indiscriminate fire on a van carrying a wedding party in Naseerabad district of Balochistan (Baluchistan), killing (death) 4 people and injuring 12 people. According to local police, around 20 people, including more children, were going to Gandawaha on Saturday when motorcyclists ransacked the van when they reached the Soheje Levies checkpoint.

Jhal Magasi’s deputy commissioner said four people, including a woman, died on the spot and 12 others were injured in the attacks. The dead bodies and the injured were admitted to the district hospital in Gandawa. Hospital officials said the condition of the four injured was critical and they were shifted to Quetta for treatment.

Police said they still had no marker about the motive for the attacks. However, according to Dawn, the deputy commissioner of Jhal Magasi said that tribal enmity could be behind the killings. More were investigating the incident and the security force has started a mani campaign to trace the attackers.

According to Dawn, several dozen elders, identified as Ahmed Khan Kibji, were traveling in the vehicle along with his two brothers and some others. When their vehicle reached Kshurlam, close to the Pakistan-Afghan border, unidentified assailants attacked it with an automatic brake, killing seven people on the spot and injuring one person.

A senior Levi’s official said, “The victims tried to travel in the vehicle but did not give them a chance to save their lives.” After getting information about the incident, the levy officials reached and shifted the dead bodies and injured to the district hospital in Zhob. “We have received seven bodies and one injured in the hospital,” Dawn reported.

Officials said the motive behind the attack is still unknown and authorities are probing the incident. However, officials said that Ahmad Khan Kibzai Levi had several cases settled by the army and was a deserter. They also had an abominable enmity.
