Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the final in the Asia Cup 2022. Sri Lanka, chasing their 172-run target, made it difficult for Pakistan to score and tightened the noose in the last four overs. Wanindu Hasaranga, who had earlier scored 36 off 21 balls to put the Sri Lankan innings on track with Bhanuka Rajapaksa, took three wickets in the 17th over alone but ended the Pakistani challenge. Earlier, Rajapaksa’s unbeaten 71 off 45 balls turned a complete counterattack for Pakistan. Sri Lanka posted 170/6 despite scoring 67/5 after the first 10 overs.
