Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched a money-laundering probe against the TikTok star earlier this month after it claimed that he traveled from Pakistan to the United Kingdom with a large amount of cash.

According to news agency ANI, a video originally shared on social media platform Snack Videos earlier this month landed Ms Shah in trouble. In the video from January 10, the TikTok star was seen sitting with two heaps of British pounds. Showing off the money, the social media star said it was the first time he had brought a “huge amount” from Pakistan to London.
According to the website of the Federal Board of Revenue, a traveler can bring any amount of any foreign currency to Pakistan but “foreign currencies are allowed to be carried unconditionally up to USD 10,000.”
The FIA statement said an investigation was launched against Ms Shah under laws relating to foreign exchange laws and that her “visa, immigration and travel documents have been obtained.”
“The FIA has decided to write a letter to the UK’s National Crime Agency to take action against Harim Shah, whose real name is Fiza Hussain,” the statement said.
This is not the first time that Harim Shah has found himself in hot water. In October 2019, authorities had launched an investigation after he shared videos of himself in the MEA conference room as detailed by Dawn.
