The Board has stated that it has received communication in this regard from the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, New Delhi.
“It is informed that this office has received a letter from the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee requesting to prevent Sikh students/ examinees from entering the examination hall along with Sikh students. Kakkar (Sikhism articles) – kara (iron bracelet), kangha (wooden comb), kirpan (small dagger), kashera (specially stitched cotton undergarment), kesh (uncut hair), because for Sikhs these Wearing of items is mandatory. at all times,” stated the circular by the board, which has also been marked to the Directorate of Education.
The Delhi-based organization told the board that the directions passed by the Delhi High Court allow Sikh students to appear in the examination hall with Sikh Kakkar (articles of faith).
“In this regard, all concerned are ordered to honor this request and not to prevent Sikh students carrying these items from entering the examination hall,” the Goa Board said. The state’s high schools and higher secondary schools affiliated to the Goa Board fall under the purview of the Board from classes IX to XII.
Apart from the first Unit Tests to be held soon in schools for lower classes including Classes IX and XI, the Board has recently announced its tentative schedule of two terminal public examinations for students of Class X and XII to be held for 2022-23. has also been announced. academic year.
As per the tentative dates, the first terminal examination for class X students will begin from November 10 while the second terminal examination will be held from April 1.
For Class XII students also, the first terminal exam will tentatively start from November 10. However, the second session exam will be held from March 1.
