Panerai and Brabus have partnered to jointly work on a range of exclusive watch products. To mark the new collaboration, the luxury watchmaker has launched a new Submersible Series watch inspired by the design of the Brabus “Shadow Black Ops” series of boats.

Italian luxury watch maker, Panerai, has entered German high-performance automotive engineering company, Brabus, to jointly work on a range of watch products exclusively. To mark the new collaboration, the luxury watchmaker has launched a new Submersible Series watch inspired by the design of the Brabus “Shadow Black Ops” series of boats. The new watch series, called the Submersible S Brabus Black Ops Edition (PAM01240), priced at $46,200 or approximately ₹3.5 million, is the first watch from the Italian marque to receive a skeletonized automatic movement. The new special edition watch will be limited to 100 units only.
Brabus’ Black Ops line of luxury debuts are limited-edition models, with only 37 examples.
While Brabus is widely known for being an automotive aftermarket tuning company that specializes in mercedes benz, Smart and Maybach Vehicles, it also has a Marine division that manufactures high-speed boats. Brabus’ line of Black Ops luxury dayboats, which includes both the Shadow 900 Spider and Shadow 900 Sun-Top. The Shadow 900 range comes with Mercury Marine’s latest Dual 450R Verado XL 4.6 liter V8 four stroke engine with joystick piloting for easy docking and maneuvering. Brabus’ luxurious all-black Deebot is also a limited-edition model, with only 37 examples. Panerai says its origins lie in the development of diving watches, making it the perfect partner for Brabus.

The two brands plan to work together to create innovative products that match the marine segment of both Brabus and Panerai. The watchmaker says they will work on new ideas, new technologies and new materials to develop these products. For the new PAM01240, the watch has a one-piece off-centered oscillating weight that allows bi-directional winding, allowing the two spring barrels to wind efficiently while the watch is worn. Since the oscillating rotor is made of tungsten, the watch is very thin and lightweight. It comes with features like a patented polarized date display and a unidirectional rotating bezel for calculating immersion time. It also has a three-day power reserve and a sapphire crystal disc indicator filled in Super-LumiNova.
The minute, hour and small seconds hands are pronounced Brabus-red, and the Brabus brand emblem is engraved in several places.

Visually, it features Brabus’s signature gunmetal grey, black, and red color palette, plus, the watchcase is made from Carbotec’s high-end composite material in a modern, dark brown. The watch is also water resistant to 300 meters (30 bar) and features two straps, one bi-material version and the other, a Panerai Sportec strap with Velcro closure.
