Panneerselvam reiterates that his group will field candidates in Erode (East)

AIADMK’s ousted coordinator O. Panneerselvam reiterated on Monday that his group would contest the February 27 Erode (East) assembly bypoll.

Addressing reporters after a meeting with office-bearers of his group in Chennai that lasted for over two-and-a-half hours, Mr. Panneerselvam said that every participant wanted the group to participate in the bypolls. Panneerselvam hoped that the name of the nominee would be announced soon.

Asked for comment about the BJP state president’s reported signal of support for the AIADMK, the ousted coordinator replied that “he [Mr Annamalai] Those present at the meeting included Panruti S. Ramachandran, political advisor, R. Vaithilingam, former minister, and JCD Prabhakar, former MLA.
